For the third-consecutive week, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team (5-0) is ranked third in both the USILA/NIKE Coaches Poll and the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
The Orange defeated St. John's 15-4 on Saturday and received 338 points in the poll, just 19 behind No. 2 Notre Dame. A pair of undefeated teams from the Ivy league sit behind 'Cuse, with Yale (325 points) and Brown (305 points) rounding out the top-five.
Following its 14-8 win over Towson, Johns Hopkins moved up to No. 8, setting up Syracuse's first of potentially three-straight top-10 matchups, with No. 9 Duke and Notre Dame looming in the following weeks after Syracuse faces the Blue Jays on Saturday.
The media poll follows the same top-five, with Denver again a unanimous No. 1 selection, followed by Notre Dame (537 points), with Syracuse right behind with 525 points. Yale (492) and Brown (476) also rank fourth and fifth in the media poll.
Johns Hopkins sits in eighth as well, with Duke (11), North Carolina (17) and second-ranked Notre Dame representing Syracuse's future opponents in the polls.
Syracuse has been represented in 45-straight USILA polls.
The Orange and Blue Jays will continue their storied rivalry on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Baltimore. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
