TODAY'S GAME

Â- The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 with John Brickley (pxp) and Paul Carcaterra (color). TK99 with Brian Higgins (pxp) and Kyle Fetterly (color) calling the action. WAER will also be calling the game with Conor Green and Marco Socci in the booth, and Jared Barton on sideline.
- Syracuse enters the game 6-4 after falling at Cornell in overtime on Tuesday.
THE NORTH CAROLINA SERIES
- The Orange and Tar Heels will square off for the 21st time, with the Orange controlling the all-time series 13-7.
- The Orange have won five of their last six meetings with the Tar Heels, including two of three under head coach, John Desko (since 1999).
- The two teams first met on May 20, 1981, in the NCAA Quarterfinals. North Carolina was victorious, 13-6.
- Last season, Syracuse and North Carolina squared off twice. Carolina took the regular-season match-up, 17-15, but Syracuse got revenge two weeks later in the first round of the ACC Tournament with a 9-8 victory.
KEEPING IT 100
- This is the 100th anniversary season of Syracuse men's lacrosse, which began play in 1916 under head coach Laurie Cox.
- Syracuse has only had four head coaches in the 100-year span (Laurie Cox, Roy Simmons Sr., Roy Simmons Jr. and John Desko).
- To celebrate the 100 years, each home game will be broken down into a different era, showing in-game video elements and featuring a special fold-out story in the program at the Carrier Dome. Today, Syracuse will honor the second era of Roy Simmons Jr., from 1983-1998 when the Orange won six NCAA Championships.
- On April 1, the Orange had a centennial celebration to honor the former players and coaches who've helped build Syracuse into the program it is today. Nearly 200 alums returned to the Oncenter for the event, which will air on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel at a later date.
- Syracuse will also celebrate an all-century team, to be voted on by the fans, which is currently up for vote on Cuse.com.
BREAK-OUT SEASONS
- Of the Orange's six leading scorers, three have already exceeded their previous career totals in goals during 2016.
- Jordan Evans's 18 goals tie him for second on the Orange this season. Evans' previous season-high came in 2015 (nine goals), and he entered the season with 11 on his career.
- Sergio Salcido ranks fourth on the team with 16 goals this season. Prior to 2016, the redshirt junior had never scored in his collegiate career.
- Tim Barber started his senior campaign with 11 career goals. This season, Barber has 16 goals, good for the fourth-best number on the team.
- Derek DeJoe is also close to eclipsing his previous career total in goals during 2016. During his first three seasons, DeJoe totaled 13 goals. He has 12 already this year.
WILLIAMS POWERS ORANGE AT THE X
- Ben Williams enters Saturday's contest ranked 12th nationally in faceoff win percentage (.628). He has taken at least 16 faceoffs in each of the Orange's first eight games, and is 142-226 on the season.
- Williams' highest single-game mark of this season came against Cornell when he won 18 of his 22 draws (.818).
- For his career, Williams ranks third in ground balls per game (7.80), second in ground balls (312), first in faceoffs won (566) and second in faceoffs attempted (934) amongst active Division 1 players.
