SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse softball team continues its homestand, facing in state foe Colgate in a doubleheader matchup on Wednesday, Apr. 20 starting at 3 p.m.

The Orange look to gain its third consecutive win after capturing the series victory this past weekend against NC State. The weekend puts the Orange at a 23-18 overall record and an 8-9 mark in the ACC.

PREVIEWING COLGATE
The Raiders post a 7-21 overall record and a 3-5 record in the Patriot League, most recently picking up a conference series win against Holy Cross. Syracuse and Colgate meet for the seventh time overall, with the last meeting taking place two seasons ago where the Orange shut out the Raiders 11-0 in Hamilton.

Junior Katie Bushee leads the Raiders with a .300 batting average and 27 hits on the season, including eight doubles, one triple, and 12 RBIs. Pitcher Kyle Griswold leads the team with a 3.20 ERA, allowing 35 runs over the course of 59 innings pitched.

The Orange are coming off a series victory in ACC play over NC State this past weekend, scoring 22 runs while holding the Wolfpack to only nine runs over the course of three games. Syracuse split Saturday's doubleheader, falling 5-4 before outlasting NC State 5-4 in the second game. The Orange closed the weekend in a five-inning shutout, sailing past the Pack 13-0.

Sophomore Sammy Fernandez was an offensive force to be reckoned with, racking up nine hits on the weekend, including two doubles and one triple. In the series finale shutout, the sophomore registered a perfect day at the plate, going 4-4 while driving in five of the Orange's 13 runs. Redshirt sophomore Olivia Martinez recorded her first home run of her Syracuse career while totaling five RBIs on the weekend.

The series victory marks Syracuse's first win over NC State after meeting five times overall and two times as ACC rivals.

OZANNE BREAKS CAREER HOME RUN RECORD IN DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP
The Orange are coming off of a dominating sweep against Canisius this past Wednesday, winning the first game 4-0 before racking up 22 runs to 1 in five innings.

Senior Corinne Ozanne became the first batter in Syracuse history to reach 47 career home runs, putting on a four-home run show across the two games. She started things off with two solo homers in the first game, before adding another solo and topping things off with a grand slam for her 47th career home run. Her grand slam put her ahead of former Orange Jasmine Watson's 46 career home runs.

Ozanne hit nothing but homers in the doubleheader, finishing the day going 4-5 at the plate while racking up seven total RBIs. She now ranks fifth in the ACC in home runs with 11 on the season.

- The Orange remain first in the ACC and 17th in the nation in fielding percentage, holding a .973 mark over the course of 41 games.
