OAKLAND, Calif. -- Carmelo Anthony scored 16 of his 20 points in the third quarter and Team USA won its third straight exhibition game, this time 107-57 against China on Tuesday night.
Anthony tallied his 20 points in just 15 minutes of work. The former Syracuse All-American was 7-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-8 on 3-point attempts, and made both of his free throws. He added five rebounds and two assists.
DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Klay Thompson had 15 points and Kevin Durant added 13 for the Americans.
"It's not about who we're playing against," said Anthony after the game. "It's about us and just gearing up and tightening some things up and getting ready for Rio."
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim is once again on Coach Mike Krzyzewski's staff as an assistant coach. Mike Hopkins, Syracuse's head-coach designate, is a court coach with the Olympic Team.
Team USA returns to action on Friday, July 29, when it plays Venezuela at the United Center in Chicago.
