SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The excitement is building for the start of the 2016 Orange football season and Syracuse Athletics is marking the start of the Dino Babers era with a 6 p.m. pep rally on the Quad prior to Syracuse's opener against Colgate Friday, Sept. 2.
Â
Orange fans, season-ticket holders and students are encouraged to begin gathering at 5:45 p.m. for the pep rally, which will feature the "Pride of the Orange," Syracuse University's marching band, as well as the Orange cheerleaders and dance team. Members of the student group "Otto's Army" will also be in attendance to teach Syracuse-themed chants and cheers.
Â
In addition, the Syracuse-Colgate game marks the first stop of the inaugural ACC Football Tailgate Tour, presented by Lumber Liquidators. Former SU standout quarterback Marvin Graves will be on hand for the festivities, which begin at 4 p.m. outside Gate N of the Carrier Dome and continue until Friday's 7 p.m. kickoff.Â
Â
A 53-foot tractor trailer is the centerpiece of the tour. Featuring ACC football and Lumber Liquidators graphics and images on the exterior, the inside of the truck will be a mix of Lumber Liquidators and ACC football videos, products, information and equipment. The tour also includes representation from the Capital One Orange Bowl, interactive games and chances to receive giveaway items. Fans can also register to win a Lumber Liquidators room makeover and a trip to the 2016 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game.Â
Â
The ACC Football Tailgate Tour, presented by Lumber Liquidators, will make stops at each of the league's 14 football campuses this season, as well as FanFest at the 2016 Dr Pepper ACC Football Game in Charlotte, N.C.
