Syracuse hosts USF on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University football team returns to non-conference play on Saturday afternoon when it hosts USF. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
Syracuse is looking to rebound from a 62-28 loss to Louisville on Sept. 9. Redshirt senior wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark for the second straight game for the Orange.
Â
"The one thing you want to do as a football coach is you want to make sure a team only beats you once," head coach Dino Babers said in his weekly news conference Monday. "You can't let that thing linger around. We need to regroup and make sure we control the things we can control, so that we can put our best foot forward against South Florida.
Â
"We just have to go back and take care of the things we can take care of. "There's no doubt that's a fabulous opponent [Louisville]. They're going to have an opportunity to do great things this year. We have to make sure we grow from it."
Â
The Orange will host a USF squad Saturday that is off to a 2-0 start. For the second straight week, Syracuse will face a dual-threat quarterback with junior Quinton Flowers at the helm for the Bulls. Flowers was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a four-touchdown performance against Northern Illinois on Sept. 10.
Â
"We don't have to try and simulate it in practice, we just saw it live, up close and personal," Babers said. "Hopefully we'll play a lot better. I think it's going to be an advantage."
Â
Tickets for Syracuse football are available online, by phone (888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Prices start $20 for the USF game, $25 for the Louisville and NC State games, and $30 for the Virginia Tech and Florida State contests.
