Molloy Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week
2/20/2017 2:12:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
After making nine saves in the Orange's win over No. 12 Albany, including a stretch of six-straight during a 31-minute Great Danes scoreless streak where 'Cuse erased a five-goal deficit, Syracuse goalie Evan Molloy has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Molloy, who was named ACC Tournament MVP last season and is a team captain this year, kept Syracuse in Saturday's game long enough for the Orange to come back against the Great Danes, eventually winning it with 1.6 seconds left on a Nick Mariano goal.
'Cuse will next play Army, who is receiving votes in both polls, at Noon on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. Tickets are available at Cuse.com/tickets, by calling 888-DOMETIX or at the Carrier Dome Box Office.
