'Cuse Now #2 in USILA Poll
4/3/2017 2:06:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
After defeating previous No. 1 Notre Dame on the road Saturday, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team (7-1, 3-0 ACC) moved up one spot to No. 2 in the latest USILA Poll.
Penn State occupies the No. 1 spot this week, collecting 317 points and 14 first place votes. Syracuse earned 301 points and a pair of first place votes, right behind the Nittany Lions. Notre Dame (269 points), Hofstra (248 points) and Denver (245 points) round out the top-five in succession.
No. 20 North Carolina is the lone ranked opponent remaining on the Orange's schedule, with 'Cuse also playing host to Binghamton later this month, with the Bearcats currently just outside the top-20 but receiving votes in the poll.
The Orange has already faced No. 7 Albany, No. 8 Army, No. 10 Duke, No. 11 Johns Hopkins and No. 14 Virginia in addition to last week's matchup with the Fighting Irish.
'Cuse will return to action on Wednesday at Hobart, continuing one of the nation's longest series in what will be the 103rd meeting between the programs. Faceoff will be at 7 p.m. in Geneva, N.Y. with the game set to be broadcast on Spectrum Sports.
