'Cuse Awaits Seeding on Tonight's Selection Show
5/7/2017 4:38:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
The Syracuse men's lacrosse team will find out its opponent for the 2017 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament in Sunday's selection show, which will be broadcast on ESPNU at 9 p.m.
The Orange are expected to be one of the eight national seeds, which would mean a home game in the first round of the tournament. This would be the fifth-straight season Syracuse would open NCAA Tournament play in the Carrier Dome. It'll also mark the 10th-straight selection to the field for the Orange and 34th NCAA Tournament bid in the last-35 seasons.
Head coach John Desko enters the tournament with the fourth-most wins of any Division I head coach all-time and is one win away from tying former Syracuse coach Roy Simmons Jr. for third on that list with 34 tournament victories. Desko also has the best win percentage in tournament play of any active coach who has appeared in at least 10 NCAA Tournament games, boasting a .733 winning percentage at the helm of the Orange.
Syracuse alums Paul Carcaterra and Anish Shroff will be joined by Quint Kessenich in studio for the reveal, which is on channel 370 for Spectrum customers, 573 and 73 (SD) on Verizon Fios, 208 on DirecTV and 141 on Dish Network in the Syracuse area. The show will also be broadcast on ESPN3.
