
11 'Cuse Alums to Participate in MLL Legends Alumni Game

Major League Lacrosse announced the rosters for the second Legends Alumni Game at the Lake Placid Summit Classic – and once again the rosters are primarily Orange.
Highlighted by Lacrosse Hall of Fame members Gary Gait and Pat McCabe, and soon to be inducted Casey Powell, 11 former Orange and MLL stars will take to the field as part of two 20-man rosters competing in the alumni game.
The rosters are split into two teams, Team Brine and Team Warrior. Team Brine features Gait, McCabe Liam Banks, Kevin Dougherty, Tim Byrnes and John Glatzel. Team Warrior will feature Powell, Mike Leveille, Regy Thorpe, Ric Beardsley and Matthew Alexander.
The 11 players in the all-star game combined for a Tewaaraton Award, four Lt. Raymond J. Enners Awards (awarded to nation's top player), three Lt. Donald C. MacLaughlin Jr. Awards (presented to the nation's top midfielder), Two William C. Schmeisser Awards (awarded to the top defender), and a Lt. Col. Jack Turnbull Award (given to the top attackmen) in college as well as a combined for 25 All-America honors.
The Legends Alumni Game will take place on Friday, Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Lax Sports Network. Proceeds from the event will benefit the HEADstrong Foundation and Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund.
