Boeheim's Army In TBT Semifinal August 1

Boeheim's Army, a team consisting of Syracuse men's basketball alumni, is set to square off against Overseas Elite in The Basketball Tournament semifinals on Tuesday, Aug. 1 in Baltimore. The teams will tip off at 9 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
The Army reached its first ever TBT semifinal after defeating Team FOE, 72-67, in the quarterfinals. Team FOE led by 25 points with 11:54 remaining, but James Southerland's four 3-pointers in the second half helped lead The Army to a comeback victory. Southerland finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Devendorf chipped in 15 points.

OVERSEAS ELITE
THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
TBT is an annual single-elimination basketball tournament held across the country. This year, 64 teams entered to play for a winner-takes-all prize of $2 million. The winner from this semifinal will face the winner of Scarlet and Gray vs. Team Challenge ALS on Thursday, August 3 at 7 p.m.Â

BOEHEIM'S ARMY KEY PLAYERS
- Devendorf: has played in all four tournament games and averages 18 points and 4.3 assists.
- Brandon Triche: recorded a triple-double (11 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds) in the opening round victory against Dubois Dream. Triche averages 11 points, six assists and four boards per game.
- Donte Greene: is averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games played. He scored a game-high 32 points in the second round win over Gaelnation.
- Rick Jackson: is averaging 8.8 points and six rebounds throughout all competition.
- John Gillon: averages 11 points per game, including a game-high 26 points in the opening round defeat of Dubois Dream.
BOEHEIM'S ARMY OTHER PLAYERS
- Southerland: has appeared in two games and averages 14 points and 7.5 rebounds.
- C.J. Fair: averaging 8.3 points and 6.5 rebounds.
- Trevor Cooney: averaging six points throughout competition.
- DaShonte Riley: averaging 2.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
OVERSEAS ELITE
- The Elite are the two-time defending champions and are 17-0 all-time in TBT competition.
- Overseas has won its four games by an average of nine points.
- Key players to watch: D.J. Kennedy, Kyle Fogg, Errick McCollum II, DeAndre Kane, and Dejuan Blair.
