The No. 5 Syracuse field hockey team (6-0, 1-0 ACC) couldn't have asked for a better start to conference play, rolling past No. 8 Boston College (4-1, 0-1 ACC) 6-0 on Friday night.

The Orange dominated on both ends of the field, as Syracuse's shutout streak extended to six-straight games without surrendering a goal – a mark that ties a program record and is currently the nation's longest streak. The 'Cuse offense also exploded, with five players totaling six goals for the squad.

"I'm really proud of how we prepared all week," said head coach Ange Bradley. "Tonight was a complete team effort, they executed the game plan and our goals were great team goals. I'm really proud of the leadership that was shown this week."

Elaine Carey led the way with a six-point effort, scoring twice and contributing a pair of assists as well, while Borg van der Velde matched a career high with three saves.

Carey started the action with a backhand shot around the keeper after Carolin Hoffmann inserted the ball into the circle through traffic in the seventh minute.

Laura Hurff then continued the hot start 24 minutes into action when she buried a low, hard shot across the cage and into the bottom left corner of the net. Jennifer Bleakney provided the assist on the play.

Just 1:11 later, Bleakney scored one of her own. After being setup by Elaine Carey, Bleakney finished her third goal of the year. Caroline Cady then finished off the first half offensive onslaught four minutes later when she deflected a low shot into the net after Carey sent the ball in front.

The Orange didn't slow down in the second half after taking a 4-0 lead into the locker room. Carey secured her second-straight multi-goal game in the 43rd minute off a feed from Emma Tufts.

Lies Lagerweij ended the 'Cuse scoring with 20 minutes remaining off a corner. Lagerweij's shot found its way into the right side of the cage, with Florine Hogendoorn inserting to Tufts to setup the corner play.

Next, Syracuse will conclude their short road trip against No. 21 Albany on Sunday at 1 p.m.
