GREENSBORO, N.C. – Six home games, including a Friday night date with Louisville, highlight the 2018 Syracuse University football schedule, released Wednesday, Jan. 17 by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
As previously announced, the Orange begin their 129th gridiron campaign Sept. 1 at Western Michigan in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Upon returning from Kalamazoo, Syracuse will play three straight home games. The Orange host FCS foe Wagner (Sept. 8), followed by their ACC opener against Florida State (Sept. 15). A non-conference clash with Connecticut on Sept. 22 caps the stretch.
Conference play resumes in earnest the next week, as Syracuse closes the season's first month with a trip to Death Valley to take on defending ACC champion and College Football Playoff semifinalist Clemson on Sept. 29.
October begins with Syracuse's annual matchup against ACC Coastal Division rival Pittsburgh. The Orange visit the Panthers on Oct. 6 for the 74th meeting in a series that dates back to 1916.
After an open date, Syracuse is back in the Carrier Dome for a pair of games versus Tar Heel State opponents. The Orange entertain North Carolina on Oct. 20 and NC State on Oct. 27.
The month of November features a road tilt at Wake Forest (Nov. 3), followed by the home finale Friday, Nov. 9 versus Louisville. The primetime clash between the Orange and Cardinals will be televised nationally by one of the ESPN networks.
Syracuse wraps up non-conference play against Notre Dame (Nov. 17) in Yankee Stadium, site of the program's two New Era Pinstripe Bowl triumphs (2010 vs. Kansas State, 2012 vs. West Virginia). The Orange closes out the regular season at Boston College on Nov. 24.
Syracuse's 12 opponents combined for an 82-69 (.543) record in 2017. Seven of the Orange's 11 FBS foes played in bowl games last season, with four (Florida State, Wake Forest, NC State, Notre Dame) winning their postseason game.
The 14th annual Dr Pepper Atlantic Coast Conference Football Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Season tickets for Syracuse football are on sale now online (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (888-DOME-TIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Tickets for Syracuse's six home dates start at $125.
Individual game tickets, prices, theme days and promotions will be announced at a later date. An exclusive pre-sale for Orange Club members to purchase single-game tickets is expected to launch in late April. Group-ticket packages (15 or more) will be available beginning in early February.
