SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange face a ranked opponent for the second time in four contests when Syracuse hosts No. 22 NC State on Saturday night.Â
Under Coach Dino Babers, Syracuse is 2-2 against ranked foes in the Carrier Dome, taking down No. 17 Virgnia Tech in 2016 and defeating No. 2 Clemson last season.Â
The Wolfpack is the Orange's second 2018 opponent to appear in the national rankings at the time of the game. Clemson was ranked third when it played host to the Orange back on Sept. 29. Syracuse faced at least two ranked foes per season dating back to 2011 when West Virginia was the only Orange opponent in the national polls.
NO PLACE LIKE DOME
The Carrier Dome has a long history as a productive home-field advantage for Syracuse. The Orange are off to a 4-0 Dome start for the first time since the 2001 squad won all six home contests.
Should Syracuse capture one of its two remaining home encounters, the Orange would reach five Dome wins for the first time since 2003.
Babers has guided Syracuse to a 10-7 home mark during his tenure.
