Orange to Face Hokies in ACC Tournament First Round

GREENSBORO, N.C. – No. 20 Syracuse will travel to Blacksburg, Va. to face No. 18 Virginia Tech in the first round of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The match is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 and will be shown on ACC Network Extra.

The Orange are the No. 10 seed in the tournament after posting a 1-4-3 record in league play. Syracuse tied Boston College, 0-0, on Friday to end the regular season with a 7-5-4 overall mark.

Virginia Tech earned the No. 7 seed in the tournament. The Hokies were 9-5-3 overall, 3-4-1 in league play. Syracuse will make its second trip to Blacksburg this season. Virginia Tech scored in the 108th minute to defeat the Orange, 1-0, on Sept. 28.

The winner of Wednesday's match advances to the quarterfinals where it will take on No. 5-ranked and second seed North Carolina (12-2-1). The Tar Heels claimed the Coastal Division title with a 6-1 mark in ACC play.

The first two rounds of the tournament as well as the semifinals will be played at the campus of the higher seed. The championship will be held at noon on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
