SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange senior quarterback Eric Dungey is in the running for a pair of national quarterback awards for his performance in Syracuse's 51-41 victory over No. 22 NC State. Dungey was named to the Davey O'Brien "Great 8" list for Week 9 of the college football season on Monday, Oct. 29. He was also tabbed a Manning Award "Star of the Week."
Â
The honors are the latest for Dungey, who earlier today was voted the ACC Quarterback Back of the Week after throwing for 411 yards and three touchdowns against the Wolfpack. He also added 32 rushing yards to finish with 443 yards of total offense.
Â
All 129 FBS quarterbacks are eligible for the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week Award. The winner, which will be one of the week's "Great 8" quarterbacks, will be announced Wednesday. Along with Dungey, Taylor Cornelius (Oklahoma State), Nick Fitzgerald (Mississippi State), Jake Fromm (Georgia), D'Eriq King (Houston), Jordan Love (Utah State), Gardner Minshew (Washington State) and Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) are up for this week's award.
