SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse looks to start the 2018-19 season with a win when it hosts Eastern Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The game, which is part of the 2K Classic, tips off at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

OPENING TIP
- This will be Jim Boeheim's 43rd season as head coach for the Orange. In that time, Syracuse is 38-4 in home openers.
- Syracuse won its two exhibition games. The Orange beat Saint Rose, 80-49, and then defeated Le Moyne, 89-52. This is the eighth straight year that the 'Cuse has swept its exhibition series.

NEWCOMERS SHINE IN EXHIBITIONS WINS
- Freshman Buddy Boeheim started in both exhibition games and scored 19 points against Saint Rose and 13 against Le Moyne.
- Transfer Elijah Hughes also started in both exhibition games and scored 19 points against Saint Rose and a team-high 21 points against Le Moyne.

RETURNERS LOOK TO LEAD
- Junior Tyus Battle headlines the Orange returners. Last season, Battle led the team in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game.
- Sophomore Oshae Brissett looks to continue to improve this season. As a freshman, Brissett averaged 14.9 points per game, and had 34 assists, 29 blocks and 43 steals.
- Seniors Frank Howard and Pascal Chukwu and sophomore Marek Dolezaj are all returning starters from last year's squad that advanced to the Sweet 16.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- Eastern Washington finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 20-15 and made its fourth straight post season appearance (CBI).
- The Eagles return four starters from that squad, including senior Ty Gibson, sophomore Jack Perry, junior Mason Peatling and redshirt senior Cody Benzel. The only starter lost was Bogdan Bliznyuk, who is the Big Sky and Eastern Washington all-time leading scorer with 2,169 career points.

ON THE ORANGE HORIZON
Syracuse will host Morehead State in the second preliminary game of the 2K Classic on Saturday, Nov. 10. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
