Orange Trio Earn All-ACC Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Tajon Buchanan has been voted to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men's Soccer First Team by the league's head coaches the conference announced on Wednesday, Nov. 7. In addition, senior Kamal Miller is an All-ACC Third Team selection, while Ryan Raposo is a member of the All-Freshman team.

Buchanan has recorded career highs in points (20), goals (8) and assists (4). He leads the team in points and goals and ranks fourth in assists. Buchanan ranks fifth in the ACC in points and goals per game. He has recorded multiple goals three times this season, including a career-high three against St. Bonaventure. Buchanan is the first member of the Orange to reach 20 points in a season since Ben Polk had 28 points in 2015. He becomes the sixth player to earn All-ACC First Team honors after being named to the third team and All-Freshman team in 2017.

Miller, a four-year starter on defense, is making his first appearance on the All-ACC Team. He has started all 16 matches in which he has played this season and helped the Orange record five shutouts, including a 2-0 win against No. 1 Wake Forest. Miller recorded an assist at No. 11 Louisville, increasing his career point total to 17.

Raposo has made an immediate impact on the Orange in his rookie campaign. He is tied for second in the ACC in assists with a team-best seven. That total ties him for the fourth-highest total for a Syracuse freshman in program history. Raposo ranks second on the squad in points (15) and is tied for third in goals (4). Twice this season he has posted three points in a match, helping the Orange to wins against Cornell and Ohio State. With Raposo's selection, Syracuse has now had at least one player named to the ACC All-Freshman Team every year since joining the league in 2013.

The Orange (7-6-4) are awaiting the NCAA Selection Show to find out if their season will continue. The 48-team field will be announced on Monday, Nov. 12. Syracuse is No. 18 in the latest RPI released earlier this week.
