Brosnan Tabbed to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan has been named to the All-ACC Acadmeic Soccer Team, the conference announced Thursday. This is the first All-ACC Academic honor for Brosnan and second year in a row that Syracuse has placed an Orange on the Team.
The 2017 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team is compromised of 50 honorees, representing 13 different institutions in the conference. Duke led the league with 10 selections, followed by six for both Wake Forest and North Carolina State, five for Notre Dame and Virginia, three for each Boston College, Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina, while Miami and Virginia Tech had two and Louisville and Syracuse had one student-athlete selected apiece.
Brosnan is a biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences. She was a member of both the Athletic Director's Honor Rolle for the Spring and Fall of 2017 and earned a spot on the Dean's List in both semesters as well.
The Short Hills, N.J. native was tabbed to the All-ACC Third Team after finishing the season first in the ACC in saves (102) and third in the ACC in save percentage (.810). In the final game of her career, Brosnan broke the Syracuse record for career saves, finishing her four-year career with 344 stops in goal.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
