
Miller, Herlihy Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Abbey Miller of the women's ice hockey team and Patrick Herlihy of the men's basketball team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
A senior from Anoka, Minn., Miller is pursuing a bachelor's degree in communication and rhetorical studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Miller was tabbed to the ACC Academic Honor Roll last season and has made an appearance on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times in her academic career.
The starting goalie for the past two seasons, Miller has played in 66 games for the Orange, starting in 61 of those contests. In her four-year career, she has accumulated a 1.95 career goals against average and has posted a .915 save percentage. Miller holds the program record for most career shutouts with 11 and sits in fifth for career saves with 1292.
Herlihy, a senior guard, is an Information Management and Technology and a Sport management double major in the School of Information Studies. The senior was tabbed to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the fall of 2017 for academic excellence.
In his first and final year with the Orange, Herlihy has appeared in two games for Syracuse, tallying a rebound and two points against Cornell. The Charleston, W.V. native also logged time in an Ornage win against Oakland.
Miller and the ice hockey team head to Buffalo to compete in the CHA Tournament beginning on March 1, while Herlihy and the men's basketball team travel to Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College on Feb. 28 in a 9 p.m. tip.
