INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Syracuse sits atop the latest NCAA Division I women's lacrosse statistics in two categories. The Orange lead the country in points per game (28.67) and are tied for first in scoring offense (19.67).
Â
Syracuse has used a balanced scoring attack this season as it is the highest-scoring offense in the nation despite not having a player ranked in the top 100 in points. The Orange has had at least nine different players score at least one goal in each of the first three games of the season.
Â
In addition, Syracuse (3-0) is tied for first in winning percentage as it is one of 16 teams that are undefeated this season. The Orange also rank fourth in assists per game (9.0), third in shots on goal per game (29.0) Â and fifth in scoring margin (8.33), turnovers per game (12.67) and shots per game (37.0).
Â
Individually, sophomore goalkeeper Asa Goldstock (Niskayuna, N.Y.) ranks ninth in the nation in save percentage (.525), while senior Neena Merola (Painted Post, N.Y.) is 19th in shooting percentage (.700).
Â
The Orange will face their first ACC opponent of the season when they match up with No. 9/11 Virginia in Charlottesville on Sunday, March 4. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
