'Cuse Up to No. 8 in Latest Poll
4/2/2018 2:55:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
After the second straight win against a top-10 opponent this past weekend, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team (5-3, 3-0 ACC) moved up to No. 8 in both polls.
The Orange moved up one spot in the USILA Poll, and up two places in the Maverik Media Poll. Syracuse will host Hobart for the Kraus-Simmons Trophy on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
In the USILA poll, Albany—the Orange's week two opponent—checked in as the unanimous No. 1 once again, with 400 points all-20 first place votes.  Maryland (380) ranked second, followed by Yale (329), Denver (325), and Duke (319) to round off the top-five.
'Cuse has concluded its streak of seven-straight games against ranked opponents, before picking back up with two ranked opponents and a team receiving votes in its next-three after Tuesday's matchup with Hobart.
Syracuse has already faced No. 1 Albany, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Johns Hopkins, No. 9 Rutgers, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 11 Virginia and Army, who is receiving votes. Still to come, Syracuse will play No. 13 Cornell, No. 20 North Carolina and Navy, who is receiving votes.
In the Maverik Media Poll, the Orange received 369 votes, seven places behind #1 ranked Albany (580 votes). Albany heads the top five with Maryland (551 points), Yale (501 votes), Denver (466 points), and Johns Hopkins (459 points) following closely behind.
The Orange hosts Hobart for the Kraus-Simmons Trophy on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
Purchase season or individual game tickets now online at cuse.com/tickets, over the phone at 888-DOME-TIX, or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).
