Madonna Named ACC Player of the Week

After tying his career-high with 13 saves and helping the Orange to knock-off No. 6 Notre Dame, redshirt senior Dom Madonna Earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Madonna posted back-to-back saves in the final minute of the first half to keep a one-goal lead for the Orange heading into the locker room. The Liverpool native then made three saves in the final quarter of action to solidify Syracuse's 10-6 victory.
The redshirt senior has recorded 10+ saves in five straight games and has made 10 or more stops in goal six times this season. Madonna is averaging 9.88 saves per game, good for second in the ACC, and has posted a combined 26 saves in the last two contests, both wins over top-six opponents.
'Cuse takes a break from conference action, hosting Hobart on Tuesday for a midweek matchup at 7 p.m. for the Kraus-Simmons Trophy. The game will air on ACC Network Extra or can be heard on TK99/105.
