Orange Open Weekend at Sam Howell Invite

Laura Dickinson finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase, to headline the first day of a pair of meets for the Orange.
Dickinson led a group of distance competitors at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton, while Aviana Goode competed in the high jump in Miami, as the lone day one competitor at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
Dickinson crossed the line in 10:34.00 for silver. Julia Stevenson of Dartmouth finished first in 10:18.36.

In the 1500-meters, Simon Smith finished third with a time of 3:50.69. He was less than a second off Dartmouth's Henry Raymond's winning time of 3:49.85. Nathan Henderson (3:55.94) and Andy Paladino (3:58.77) finished in ninth and 13th, respectively.
In the women's race, Rachel Bonner placed eighth (4:34.77), while Sydney Leiher was right behind in ninth (4:34.78). Madeleine Davison finished 13th (4:36.58), Olivia Elston placed 22nd (4:43.79) and Kelsey Potts rounded out the Orange in the seeded section with a time of 4:47.38, good for 27th.
Ryley Higgins took 13th in the unseeded portion of the 1500, crossing the line in 5:02.00.

Emma Wilson took third in the second section of the 5k, with a time of 17:41.56.

Goode took seventh in the high jump, as the only Friday performer at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational. A full slate of sprinters will compete on Saturday.
