Orange to Face Louisville in ACC Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Ninth-seeded Syracuse will face eighth-seeded Louisville in the first round of the 2018 ACC Softball Championship on Wednesday, May 9 at 1 p.m in Atlanta, Ga. The winner will take on top-seeded Florida State on Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m.
The Orange finished the 2018 regular season with a 30-19 record and a 9-12 mark in ACC play. 'Cuse has won 10 of its last 11 games and recorded back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Syracuse hosted Louisville in a pair of conference games earlier this season in which the two teams split. In a 4-3 win, the Orange overcame a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning and freshman Lailoni Mayfield hit a walk-off RBI single to secure the victory.
'Cuse met Louisville in the first round of the 2016 ACC Softball Championship. The Cardinals scored an unearned run in the fifth inning and held on for a 1-0 win.
