SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former BIG EAST Conference foes Syracuse and Georgetown will revisit the rivalry when the two meet Saturday, December 8, in the Carrier Dome.
This year's encounter will mark the fourth straight season the Orange and the Hoyas have played. Syracuse has a 50-43 advantage in the all-time series and won last year's pairing in Washington D.C., 86-79, in overtime. Georgetown is the sixth most-frequent opponent in Syracuse hoop history.
Former Georgetown great Patrick Ewing guided the Hoyas to a 15-15 overall record in his first season as head coach. His club returns senior center Jessie Govan, who led Georgetown in scoring (17.9) and rebound (10.0) averages last winter. Sophomore guard Jamorko Pickett (9.6 ppg.) also returns to the Hoya lineup.
Syracuse was 23-14 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 before a loss to Duke ended its 2017-18 campaign. Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, is preparing for his 43rd season as Syracuse head coach.
Syracuse season tickets start at $250 and are available for sale on-line (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Limited Premium Courtside and Executive Club seats are still available and can be purchased by contacting a sales representative at 1-888-DOME-TIX.
