
'Sports Media Challenge' Added to Preferred Mutual 'Cuse Family Fun Fest

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The "Sports Media Challenge" is officially on the schedule for the 2018 Preferred Mutual 'Cuse Family Fun Fest! Media members who write and talk about the Orange will put their athleticism on display for all to see in the 40-yard dash on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Manley Field House.
The 2018 Preferred Mutual 'Cuse Family Fun Fest also includes a variety of interactive games and challenges and the opportunity to meet your favorite Orange football players. Fans are invited to test their skills in a passing accuracy challenge, field-goal kicking contest, and the 40-yard dash for the chance to win a variety of great prizes. The top performers in each event will be invited to go head-to-head against current Orange players in the "Fans vs. Football" skills challenge at 1:30 p.m. The "Sports Media Challenge" 40-yard dash will be run during the same competition period. Following the skills challenge, all fans will be invited onto the field for selfies with the student-athletes.Â

The Manley Field House parking lots open at 10:30 a.m. and the festivities begin at 11 a.m. with an outdoor carnival in front of the building. The carnival features a bounce house, inflatables, a caricature artist, and a balloon animal-maker. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the Lady Orange Dancers and Syracuse mascot Otto the Orange.

Syracuse kicks off the campaign Friday, Aug. 31 at Western Michigan. The Orange's first home game is Saturday, Sept. 8 versus Wagner.

Season and individual game tickets for Orange football are on sale now online (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (888-DOME-TIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Season tickets start at $125 for Syracuse's six home games. Single-game tickets start at $20 for Wagner and $25 for the Connecticut game on Sept. 22. For Syracuse's four Atlantic Coast Conference games, tickets are available for as little as $35.
