'Cuse ranked No. 7 in US Lacrosse Preseason Poll

The Syracuse men's lacrosse team will begin its 2020 season ranked at No. 7 in the US Lacrosse/Nike Preseason Top-20.
The full top-20 poll features a wealth of 'Cuse opponents, not surprising for the annual gauntlet that head coach John Desko schedules. 'Cuse will face No. 2 Virginia, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 8 Johns Hopkins, No. 11 North Carolina, No. 12 Cornell, No. 16 Rutgers and No. 20 Army this season. Syracuse will also scrimmage No. 3 Yale and already faced No. 9 Denver and No. 18 Lehigh this fall.
Syracuse returns All-Americans Nick Mellen, Brett Kenendy, Peter Dearth, Brendan Curry and Jamie Trimboli as well as All-ACC goaltender Drake Porter and the faceoff specialists Danny Varello and Jakob Phaup, who led the conference in faceoff win percentage last year. That core will be surrounded by other players with significant game experience in 2020.
