
Orange Hold Steady in National Polls

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse remains at No. 4 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Inside Lacrosse media rankings released on Monday, March 4. The Orange posted two wins against top 15 teams last week, giving them three wins against ranked opponents in a span of seven days.

Syracuse extended its winning streak to four with a 16-11 victory against then No. 7/6 Virginia on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. The win improved the Orange's record to 6-1 overall, 1-1 in ACC play. Redshirt junior Mary Rahal dished out a career-high three assists and led the Orange with five points, while junior Emily Hawryschuk scored a team-best four goals. Hawryschuk leads the team in points (28) and goals (22).

The top four teams in the polls were unchanged in this week's polls. Both polls have Boston College ranked No. 1 followed by Maryland at No. 2. North Carolina holds down the third spot with the Orange coming in at No. 4.

After playing seven consecutive home games to start the season, Syracuse goes on the road to face No. 2/2 Maryland on Saturday, March 9 at noon.
