CLEMSON, S.C. – Syracuse finishes the regular-season portion of its schedule on the road, traveling to Clemson, S.C. to take on the Tigers on March 9 at noon. Both teams are looking to improve their resume, which makes the game crucial for postseason placement.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (19-11, 10-7) got the job done in the first half, but couldn't hold back a second-half rally by No. 2 Virginia in a 79-53 setback. The Orange finished the first half with a two-point lead against the Cavaliers, but Virginia used 10 second-half three's to propel itself back into the lead.
Â
Syracuse had three players – junior Tyus Battle, redshirt junior Elijah Hughes and freshman Buddy Boeheim – tied for the team lead with 11 points each.
Â
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Clemson defeated Notre Dame, 64-62, on Wednesday night and enters Saturday's game with an 18-12 overall record, which includes an 8-9 mark in the ACC.
Â
Clemson's offense is led by Marcquise Reed. The graduate student is averaging 19.3 points per game while shooting .452 from the field. Reed is assisted by Elijah Thomas, who averages 13.2 points as well as 7.9 rebounds, and Shelton Mitchell, who tallies 11.7 points per game.
Â
Brad Brownell is in his ninth season at the helm of the Clemson program. Last season, he guided the Tigers to 25 victories, which tied the school record for wins in a season, and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
Â
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Clemson are tied in the all-time series, with both schools tallying four wins. Clemson started the all-time schedule leading 3-1, but Syracuse has taken three of the last four meetings to tie the series.
Â
The Orange and Tigers met earlier this season inside the Dome, where double-digit performances from four players propelled Syracuse to a 61-53 victory.
