SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Gabriela Knutson moved up to No. 13 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's latest singles poll, which was released Tuesday, April 16.
Knutson's climb in the rankings comes on the heels of her two victories last weekend. She defeated Duke's then-No. 13 Maria Mateas and Clemson's then-No. 82 Marie Leduc, going 2-0 in singles play for the Orange.
Knutson was ranked No. 19 in the previous poll. Her performance in the final weekend of the regular season also garnered her Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the second time this year.
Junior Miranda Ramirez moved up in the singles poll, as well. Ranked No. 100 last week, the native of San Antonio, Texas, jumped up three spots to No. 97.
In doubles, Knutson and Ramirez, the Orange's top duo, held steady at No. 56. Sophomore Sofya Golubovskaya and freshman Sofya Treshcheva, meanwhile, moved up six spots to No. 84.
As a team, the Orange checked in at No. 30. Syracuse, ranked No. 31 one week prior, is one of 11 Atlantic Coast Conferences programs listed, including North Carolina (No. 2), Duke (No. 3), NC State (No. 9), Florida State (No. 11), Miami (No. 21), Wake Forest (No. 22), Virginia (No. 23), Georgia Tech (No. 38), Boston College (No. 40) and Notre Dame (No. 46).Â
