Orange Maintain Spot in Penultimate Oracle/ITA Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse women's tennis team is headed into the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 31 in the country. The Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's penultimate poll of the season was released Wednesday, May 1.Â
It is the second week in a row that the Orange are ranked No. 31. Syracuse has been listed in every edition of the Oracle/ITA poll this season.
In singles, senior Gabriela Knutson moved down one spot to No. 14, while junior Miranda Ramirez dropped two spots to No. 99. Together, Knutson and Ramirez surged in the doubles rankings, climbing to No. 55 - up 12 spots from week one earlier.
Sophomore Sofya Golubovskaya and freshman Sofya Treshcheva, meanwhile, made their way back into the doubles rankings after a one-week hiatus. The pair checked in at No. 81.
The Orange are currently gearing up for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse plays No. 35 Wisconsin in the opening round at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in Stanford, California.
