The Orange's final full day in Italy was a busy and exciting one. Things started off with breakfast in the team hotel before departing for a tour of the Coliseum and the Forum. From there, the team got off their feet and enjoyed a terrific lunch at a Rome cafe before going to the Vatican for a tour. The day ended with some free time for everyone to get some final food and sight-seeing in before Tuesday's early wake-up call to head home.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 18
The Orange finished on the right note with a 82-42 win vs. Virtus Roma. The game was played in four quarters with the score resetting after each. Syracuse won all four quarters, with the closest being the third when Elijah Hughes had to hit a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to put the Orange ahead.

Following the game Coach Boeheim stressed the importance of the team learning to play together over how much they win or lose by. He spoke again how great the trip has been for the development of the team and the experiences they have had. Some Italian reporters even had some questions about the Orange playing some man-to-man defense here in Italy.
Following the game, the team traveled the countryside of Tuscany for lunch at a restaurant with another stunning postcard view for lunch before completing the journey to Rome and checking into the team hotel in the early evening. Time for some rest as it's back-to-back game days for the Orange with a 1 p.m. ET tip on Sunday.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 11
Coach JIm Boeheim and the Syracuse men's basketball team have arrived in Italy. It's the first day of a 10-day trip that will include four exhibition games for a relatively inexperienced group of Orange men.
The squad's roster returns one full-time starter from last year's club -- redshirt junior forward Elijah Hughes. Sophomore guards Buddy Boeheim and Jalen Carey both logged starts in their rookie seasons but were not regulars in the first five. Another performer with starter's experience is Marek Dolezaj but the 6-10 frontcourt player will likely not play in the exhibition games because of a broken finger he suffered at the beginning of the summer.
Junior center Bourama Sidibe, junior guard Howard Washington and sophomore forward Robert Braswell also own game experience for Syracuse.
There are five freshman who have joined the roster -- guards Joseph Girard III and Brycen Goodine, forward Quincy Guerrier and centers John Bol Ajak and Jesse Edwards. Ajak, a native of the South Sudan, was unable to make the trip because of visa issues.
