Orange Add Outfielder Gregg To Softball Roster

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Mississippi State outfielder Jamie Gregg has signed a grant-in-aid and will enroll at Syracuse and join the softball program.

The Bulldogs were 35-23 overall and competed in the NCAA Seattle Regionals in 2019. Gregg saw action in 30 games, primarily as a pinch-runner.

Gregg attended Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala, where she set the single-season record for stolen bases (58) during her sophomore season to go along with a .425 batting average and a perfect fielding percentage. She was named to the Alabama All-State First Team, Birmingham Area All-Metro Team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Team. In her junior season, Gregg hit for a .440 average and posted an on-base percentage of .960. She was also selected for the North Alabama All-Star Team.

A lefthanded hitter who throws righthanded, Gregg will be a sophomore at Syracuse.

Syracuse is looking to build on a 2019 season where they posted a 21-32 overall record and earned a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Shannon Doepking's first campaign as head coach.
