Four Orange selected in the NLL Draft
9/18/2019 10:43:00 AM | Men's Lacrosse
Four Syracuse men's lacrosse grads will continue their professional careers in the National Lacrosse League after being selected in the league's entry draft last night.
Tyson Bomberry was a first round selection in the indoor league to the New York Riptide with the No. 10 overall pick, while Bradley Voigt (fourth round), Austin Fusco (sixth round) and Brad McKinney (sixth round), were selected to the Rochester Knighthawks, Philadelphia Wings and New York Riptide, respectively.
Bomberry and McKinney will have quite a 'Cuse connection in New York as the Ripetide's coach/GM is Regy Thorpe, the former All-American Orange defender who was the women's lacrosse program's associate head coach until this season.
The four new NLL selections brings the 'Cuse total of active players in the league to 11 after seven former Orange finished the 2019 season on active rosters. That complements a host of active Syracuse players in the two field leagues, which brings the Orange total of current professionals to well over 20.
