A pair of Orange All-Americans from last season have been tabbed to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All-ACC team. Syracuse was picked to finish fourth as a team in the poll.
Junior midfielder Brendan Curry and redshirt senior defenseman Nick Mellen both earned the nod to the 13-man team. Curry and Mellen are two of five returning All-Americans for the Orange this season, with Jamie Trimboli, Brett Kennedy and Peter Dearth earning All-America nods at their respective position last season. 'Cuse also has 2019 All-ACC netminder Drake Porter and the ACC leader in faceoff percentage (Jakob Phaup) returning to its 2020 roster.
Curry, who garnered USILA Third Team All-America honors last year after posting 19 goals and 14 assists to tie for the Orange lead among midfielders with 33 points, joins midfielders Bryan Costabile (Notre Dame) and Dox Aitken (Virginia) on the squad.
Mellen, a two-time All-American at 'Cuse, is one of three defensemen on the magazine's preseason list, along with JT Giles-Harris (Duke) and Jack Kielty (Notre Dame).
