Field Hockey Schedule Update

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse field hockey games against Boston College for Saturday Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11 are postponed. Boston College is unable to compete due to one member of their program testing positive for COVID-19 and nine other student-athletes sidelined by extensive contract tracing resulting in a 14-day quarantine. Instead, Syracuse will now travel to Virginia Beach, Va., to play Duke for a single game on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The Orange and Blue Devils will play at 4 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, the regional training site for the U.S. Women's National Team. No fans will be permitted to attend Saturday's game.
Syracuse and Duke had to postpone their Sept. 18 & 20 games when members of the Syracuse field hockey team were potentially exposed to COVID-19 after interaction with an individual not affiliated with the team. Saturday's single makeup game will count as an Atlantic Coast Conference game.
The Orange have four remaining regular season games scheduled at North Carolina (Oct. 16), at Wake Forest (Oct. 18-19) and home versus Louisville (Oct. 30) before the ACC Championships in Durham, N.C., hosted by Duke Nov. 5, 6 and 8.
