For the third year in a row, Inside Lacrosse ranked the top-50 players in college lacrosse, in a list that combined both men's and women's programs.
A pair of 'Cuse men were represented, headlined by All-American midfielder Jamie Trimboli, who checked in at No. 13 and attackman Chase Scanlan, who was tabbed at No. 46. The two men join a pair of 'Cuse women – Sarah Cooper (No. 38) and the top-ranked woman, Emily Hawryschuk (No. 2).
Inside Lacrosse acknowledged that any member of the heralded 'Cuse first midfield line could be represented where Trimboli ranks, but gave him the nod as Syracuse's top-scorer last year from the unit and his leadership (Trimboli was a team captain).
The Victor, N.Y. native is a three-time All-American at Syracuse, Three-time All-American and enters 2021 one point from reaching 100, only two Orange midfielders have more in the last-10 years (JoJo Marasco -155; Sergio Salcido - 107). In 2020, he led all midfielders nationally with 3.4 goals per game, a mark that was third in the ACC among all players and 23rd nationally. He was second on the team with 20 points and 17 goals.
Scanlan impressed in his first-five games with the Orange last season, before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
