#11 Cardinals Top Orange

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse (14-12, 7-8 ACC) fell to a nationally-ranked club on the road for the second straight game when the Orange lost at #11 Louisville (22-5, 13-3 ACC), 90-66, Wednesday night at KFC Yum! Center.
Four Syracuse players scored in double figures -- Buddy Boeheim tallied 15, Quincy Guerrier posted 14, Joseph Girard III had 12, and Elijah Hughes contributed 10. Guerrier paced the Orange with 12 boards, earning his third double-double of the season.
LOUISVILLE LEAPS IN FRONT
Louisville knocked down three of its first five 3-ball attempts and came up with two steals en route to an 11-5 start. Ryan McMahon was 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and the Cardinals forced four Orange turnovers in the opening four minutes.
The ACC's second leading scorer Jordan Nwora drilled a 3-pointer with 6:35 remaining in the first half to extend the Louisville lead to 12. Back-to-back 3-balls from Girard and Boeheim and a layup from Guerrier chopped away at the deficit, making the score 33-27 in favor of the Cardinals with 3:34 showing on the clock.
Another make by Boeheim from the perimeter helped bring Syracuse to within four points, but Louisville's seventh 3-pointer of the half sent the Cardinals to the locker room with a 41-34 cushion. Boeheim was the leading scorer for the Orange, totaling 11 points. Guerrier and Bourama Sidibe led the 'Cuse attack on the glass in the first 20 minutes, finishing with five and four rebounds, respectively.

Louisville grew its lead to 19 with 11:49 to go in the game after a 16-4 scoring run. The Cardinals outscored the Orange 22-10 in the first 8:11 of the second half. Jordan Nwora bolstered his total points to 16 at this point of the contest, thanks to seven points after halftime. Louisville dominated the glass early after the break, besting the Orange 14-5 in the first 10 minutes following the intermission.
The Cardinals maintained an advantage for the remainder of the contest.
