The Syracuse men's lacrosse team climbed two spots in the USILA Poll without even playing a game this week.
The Orange check in at No. 6 this week – week zero as some are calling it with a small slate of teams playing their regular season games on Feb. 1 – which is up two spots from the preseason rank of No. 8.
'Cuse garnered 236 points in the poll, 16 behind Penn for the final spot in the top-five. Virginia remained at No. 1 (329 points/10 first-place votes), followed by Penn State (325 points/five first-place votes), Yale (303 points/two first-place votes) and Maryland (299 points).
Syracuse will square off with No. 1 Virginia, No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 10 Duke, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Cornell and No. 16 Army, as well as Rutgers and Albany, who are both receiving votes this season. The Orange are coming off a tightly-contested scrimmage against No. 3 Yale this weekend.

Now, the games will all count. 'Cuse hosts Colgate on Friday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. in the Dome on ACC Network. Syracuse opens the regular season on Friday, Feb. 7 when Colgate visits the Dome at 4 p.m. 2020 Season tickets are now on sale. You can be part of that action and join the nation's largest lacrosse crowds by purchasing season tickets for just $65 for adults and $35 for youth (12 and under).
