SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse defensive ends Kendall Coleman, Alton Robinson, wide receiver Trishton Jackson and punter Sterling Hofrichter will take part in the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine later this month. The four Orange stars were included among the 337 official combine participants, released yesterday by the NFL.
Â
The 2020 NFL Combine is set for Feb. 24 to March 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Â
Syracuse's four representatives are the most for the program since 2013 when safety Shamarko Thomas, offensive lineman Justin Pugh, quarterback Ryan Nassib and wide receiver Alec Lemon were invited. Additionally, the Orange's four 2020 invitees rank third among ACC teams, trailing only Miami (8) and Clemson (7).
Â
The experience will be a homecoming for Coleman, who attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis – approximately 20 minutes from Lucas Oil Stadium. The 2019 Bill Horr Award winner as Syracuse's MVP, Coleman was a four-year starter for the Orange. In 44 career games (43 starts), he logged 137 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks. Coleman led all Syracuse down linemen with 48 tackles as a senior.
Â
Robinson earned All-ACC honors in two of his three seasons. He finished his career seventh in school history with 19.5 sacks and tied for ninth with 32.5 tackles for loss. Robinson carded 115 tackles in 36 career games (34 starts), including 46 stops in 2019. At last month's Senior Bowl, Robinson competed against some of this year's top draft prospects and recorded two sacks.
Â
A 2019 All-ACC Second Team choice, Jackson set the Syracuse record for most receiving yards by a junior in his one full season for the Orange. Jackson caught 66 passes for 1,023 yards and tied for fourth in the ACC with 11 touchdown receptions. He ranked fifth among ACC pass-catchers in receiving yards per game (85.3).
Â
Hofrichter received All-America honors from seven different selectors in 2019 and was one of the three finalists for the Ray Guy Award as the nation's top punter. He ranked third in the FBS in net average (43.03) and led the ACC in touchback percentage (2.9). The only two-time All-ACC First Team selection in team history, Hofrichter closed his career as Syracuse's all-time leader in punting yardage (11,651).
Â
The NFL Combine is the premier pre-draft evaluation and scouting showcase for college prospects hoping to be selected in the NFL Draft. Each position group goes through four days of testing, which includes interviews with NFL franchises, medical examinations, on-field drills and workouts.
Â
Jackson displays his skills first, as on-field testing for wide receivers is set for Feb. 27. Specialists work out on Feb. 28. Workouts for defensive linemen are on Feb. 29.
Â
The 2020 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23-25 in Las Vegas.
