Wildhack Reflects on ACC Commissioner Swofford's Impact on College Sports

Syracuse University Director of Athletics John Wildhack has worked with Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Commissioner John Swofford in his roles at Syracuse University and at ESPN. Today Swofford announced he will retire fom the ACC following the 2020-21 year. Wildhack shares his thoughts about Swofford and his impact on the ACC and college athletics:
"In his 24 years as Commissioner of the ACC, John Swofford has led the conference deftly throughout a period of great change in intercollegiate athletics. Under John's stewardship the ACC has achieved at the highest level, both competitively and academically. His legacy is one of the tremendous accomplishment.
"I've had the pleasure of working with John throughout his 24 years as Commissioner. First when I was at ESPN and now at Syracuse. John is a person of great character and integrity. He has a true passion for the ACC, college athletics and student-athletes. It's been an honor and pleasure to work with John.
"The Syracuse Athletics Family thanks John and sends our best wishes to John, his wife, Nora and their wonderful family."
