Syracuse – August 7
10am-12pm: 2019 Women's Soccer, Colgate vs. Syracuse (8/25/19)
- The Orange scored a victory in head coach Nicky Adams' Syracuse debut. Laurel Ness scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Mackenzie Vlachos midway through the second half to give the Orange a 1-0 victory in the season-opener.
- Third-seeded Syracuse (11-2) fought back from an early 6-2 deficit and held off fourth-seeded Duke, 15-14, to capture the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship Sunday, April 26 at PPL Park. It was the Orange's first ACC title and fifth conference championship in the last six seasons. Kevin Rice led the Orange with three goals and four assists. He finished the weekend with 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) to win tournament MVP honors.
- The Orange won the 2016 ACC semifinal game between #17 Syracuse and #7 Louisville, 80-75. Alexis Peterson led the Orange with 19 points and Cornelia Fondren added a season-high 18 points. The win advanced Syracuse to its first conference title game since 1988 and first ACC Championship appearance in program history. Syracuse used the momentum to make a run through the NCAA Tournament and play Connecticut in the 2016 National Championship game.
- Syracuse amassed 498 yards total offense and defeated Kansas State 36-34 in the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. Quarterback Ryan Nassib threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns. All three scoring passes went to receiver Marcus Sales, who finished with 172 yards on five catches. Game MVP Delone Carter ran for a career-high 198 yards and two touchdowns. Syracuse led 36-28 before a 30-yard touchdown pass from Carson Coffman to Adrian Hilburn brought K-State within two with 1:13 remaining. But an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was assessed to Hilburn after the play, backing up K-State's two-point conversion try to the 18-yard line. The Syracuse defense denied the attempt and the Orange captured the Steinbrenner Trophy.
- Second-ranked Syracuse won at Connecticut, 71-69. Fab Melo's offensive rebound and dunk with 31 seconds left gave the Orange the triumph. Syracuse claimed the outright BIG EAST Conference title for the second time in three years. Kris Joseph had 21 points.
- At Madison Square Garden, 18th-ranked Syracuse defeated #3 Connecticut in a historic six- overtime game, 127-117. Johnny Flynn, who played 67 of a possible 70 minutes, led the Orange with 34 points. Paul Harris had 29 points and 22 rebounds.
