Former Orange defender Miles Robinson has been selected to play for the US men's senior national team (USMNT) in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday Jan. 31 at 7 pm in Orlando, Florida. Robinson participated in the U-23 training camp on Jan. 9 where he and 25 others were competing for limited spots on the senior roster. Following the conclusion of training camp Robinson and current teammate at Atlanta United, George Bello, were selected as the two new additions to the roster.
This year is big for the USMNT as it will include the Concacaf Nations League Final Four, the Gold Cup and the start of 2022 World Cup Qualifying.
Before joining the MLS and competing at the national level, Robinson was a two-year started at Syracuse. During his time with the Orange he started in all 42 matches, helped the Orange to 19 shutouts and had four goals, posting 17 points in his career. In 2015 he helped the Orange reach the College Cup for the first time in program history and claim the first ACC Championship.
Following his sophomore season at Syracuse, Robinson signed a Generation adidas contract with the MLS. In the 2017 MLS SuperDraft he was selected second overall by Atlanta United. Through his four seasons with Atlanta he has played in 63 matches, making 53 starts.
