'Cuse hosts No. 9 Notre Dame on Saturday
'Cuse remained No. 4 in both the USILA and Inside Lacrosse polls this week, despite a 15-14 loss at Duke on Thursday.
The Orange (4-2, 1-1 ACC) will host No. 9 Notre Dame on Saturday at Noon, in a game that'll be televised on ESPNU.
The top-five teams had a shakeup this week in both polls. In the USILA coaches' poll, Duke reclaimed the No. 1 ranking, collecting 407 points and 10 first-place votes. North Carolina (398/seven first-place votes) and Maryland (334/four first-place votes) were the next two teams ahead of the Orange (334 points). Virginia leapt up to No. 5 with their win over Notre Dame, collecting 310 points this week.
Syracuse opponents rank as follows this week: Duke (No. 1), North Carolina (No. 2), Virginia 2x (No. 5), Army (No. 7), Notre Dame 2x (No. 9), Vermont (No. 16), Stony Brook (No. 20), and Albany (receiving votes).
Duke also overtook the No. 1 spot in the Inside Lacrosse poll. The Blue Devils (422 points/nine first-place votes) led North Carolina (417/seven first-place votes), Maryland (415 points/six first-place votes) and Syracuse (357 points) in the top-four. Denver cracked the top-five, collecting 324 points.
Faceoff on Saturday is set for Noon.
