
‘Cuse Wraps Up Regular Season

No. 11 Clemson beat Syracuse, 19-2, in the finale of a four-game Atlantic Coast Conference series on Sunday afternoon at Skytop Stadium. The Orange (20-23, 12-20 ACC) recorded six hits in the loss. Clemson clinched the ACC regular season championship with the victory that secured a 3-1 series win against the Orange.
Clemson (40-5, 29-5 ACC) scored 11 runs off eight hits in the first two innings, four runs in the first and seven in the second. Alia Logoleo went 4-for-4 and took three different Syracuse pitchers deep in each of the first three innings, including a grand slam in the top of the second. She finished the day with a season-best 10 RBI in the contest.
Syracuse's two runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lailoni Mayfield, Gabby Teran and Toni Martin each singled to load the bases, and Geana Torres hit a single up the middle to drive in Mayfield and Teran and erase the shutout.
Kaia Oliver (7-10) started the game in the circle but exited with just one out after Clemson scored four runs. The Orange went deep into the bullpen, with Lindsey Hendrix, Miranda Hearn and Jolie Gustave each getting time in the circle.
Angel Jasso and Neli Casares-Maher also recorded hits for Syracuse.
The Orange now wait for the official seeding of the upcoming ACC Tournament next weekend in Louisville, Ky.
