Kanapatskaya Earns All-America Honors

Kanapatskaya, Limam Named Region Award Winners
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman Viktoriya Kanapatskaya is the fifth All-American in Syracuse women's tennis history after earning a top 16 seed at the 2021 NCAA Championship. The Minsk, Belarus native is also the ITA Northeast Region Rookie of the Year.

Head coach Younes Limam is the Wilson ITA Coach of the Year for the Northeast Region. He guided the Orange to an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history. Syracuse finished the season ranked No. 44.

Kanapatskaya made an immediate impact on the Orange in her rookie campaign. She posted a 12-6 singles record, playing predominantly at the No. 1 position, and ended the year ranked No. 20. Kanapatskaya earned All-ACC First Team honors and was named Syracuse Female Rookie of the Year.

The freshman joined an exclusive list of Orange tennis All-Americans, which includes Jana Strnadava (1994), Erica O'Neill (1995), Miranda Ramirez (2018) and Gabriela Knutson (2018, 2019).
