Orange Win At New Hampshire, 2-0

Freshman Kylen Grant scored the first goal of her collegiate career and the Orange (4-1) added an insurance goal to win at New Hampshire (1-3-1), 2-0. It was Syracuse's first road tilt of the fall campaign.
GRANT GETS 'CUSE ON THE BOARD
After receiving a lead pass from Meghan Root, Grant managed to sidestep a Wildcat defender and then used her left foot to score off goalkeeper Cat Sheppard on the short side. The play put the Orange ahead with just under 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

ANOTHER HEADY PLAY FROM MACHTENS
Freshman Pauline Machtens added to the Syracuse advantage by re-directing Natalie Weidenbach's corner kick off the far post at 80:34. It gave Machtens a goal in back-to-back contests.
PROULX KEEPS THE GOAL DOOR CLOSED
Graduate student Lysianne Proulx posted her second consecutive shutout in goal and her third of the season. She made one save in addition to numerous strong plays on the ball.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
The Orange return to the SU Soccer Stadium to face Cornell on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse will honor its seniors in pre-game ceremonies.

Events and special recognition of all female student-athletes who have donned the Block S to represent Syracuse University and the Athletics Department since 1971-72 will be held throughout the 2021-22 seasons.
