Syracuse (9-11 overall, 3-6 ACC) will host Wake Forest (17-4 overall, 6-3 ACC) in the Dome on Saturday, Jan. 29. The second game in the two-game, regular-season series will tip at 8:00 p.m. and will be televised on ACC Network.
SETTING THE STAGE
Syracuse aims to put a halt to its modest, two-game losing streak, when it hosts Wake Forest.
The Demon Deacons have won four straight and six-of-seven entering Saturday's encounter. The Demon Deacons defeated Boston College on Tuesday, 87-57.
THE SYRACUSE-WAKE FOREST SERIES
Syracuse owns a 9-2 advantage in the all-time series with Wake Forest, although the Demon Deacons won the last matchup. Wake Forest emerged with a 77-74, overtime triumph, when the two clubs met on Jan. 8 in Winston-Salem.
The Orange have won all four meetings in the Dome with Wake Forest.
BUDDY BOEHEIMÂ SCORING STREAK
Buddy Boeheim remains Syracuse's top scorer (18.9 ppg.) and ranks fourth in the ACC. He has scored in double figures in 16 out of 20 games, In 10 of those outings, he's topped 20 points.
In the last game against Pittsburgh, he recorded a game-high 25 points.Â
PLAYER OF THE WEEKÂ
Wake Forest junior Jake LaRavia was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday. LaRavia scored a career-high 31 points in a win against North Carolina last week. Combined with his 10 rebounds, he earned his sixth career double-double. LaRavia joined a group of only three other Demon Deacons who scored 30+ points and contributed 10+ rebounds in a game.Â
