Orange Swept By Wolfpack

RALEIGH, N.C. - Syracuse (8-9, 4-3 ACC) volleyball fell to N.C. State(11-7, 5-2 ACC) in straight-sets, 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 15-25), on Friday evening inside Reynolds Coliseum.

The score was tied four times in a highly competitive first set, where the lead was traded twice. Throughout the set, the Orange managed to stay one to three points within Wolfpack range. 'Cuse almost managed to go the distance in the first set with a 4-1 run, but the Pack took the first set 25-22 over the Orange.

In the second set of the night, the game was tied four times with just as many lead changes. 'Cuse led the charge early by going on a 4-1 run, a lead that would favor the orange until it reached a 7-7 all. The Pack then took off on a 6-1 run, to take a 13-8 lead over Syracuse. The Orange trailed for the remainder of the set despite scoring six additional points. N.C. State took the set by a score of 15-16.

Syracuse trailed In what became the third and final set of the night, falling to the Pack 25-15.

Senior outside hitter Polina Shemanova led the Orange with nine kills, Junior right-side hitter Naomi Franco collected eight, while senior Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk followed with just one less.

Syracuse will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 14th, as they square off against North Carolina at 3 p.m. The matchup will air live on ACC Network.
